Abbott Point Coal Terminal Expansion Project

TPD Media , Queensland.
Monitoring construction of : Abbott Point coal terminal expansion

The Ports Corporation of Queensland (PCQ) proposes to develop a $680 million Stage 3 (X50) expansion of its coal export terminal at Abbot Point, 25 kilometres north-west of Bowen. The X50 expansion would effectively duplicate the existing terminal infrastructure. This would provide a second rail loop and dump station, a second inloading and outloading conveyor stream, a second berth, a second shiploader and additional stockyard capacity.

The project is associated with the proposed Goonyella to Newlands (‘Northern Missing Link’) rail line and would increase the coal handling throughput of Abbot Point from its stage 2 capacity of 25 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to 50 Mtpa. The regional construction workforce would peak at approximately 950 people if all phases of the proposal are undertaken as a single continuous project. Approximately 50 additional permanent jobs would be created by the project at full capacity.

TPD Media was engaged to install camera systems for long term monitoring and time-lapse production of the project. They selected Eon-FX as the solution of choice.

There is not a time-lapse project.
